Summertime in the Lowcountry

It's officially Summer! Sure, we've been in shorts and flip-flops for a few months now, but June 21st made our vacation-like-lifestyle more acceptable to the outside world. As visitors pop into town, staycations begin, and Summer Fridays take effect at most businesses, we thought we'd give you a round-up of some of this Summer's hottest happenings.

In Mount Pleasant, Party at the Point continues to draw crowds for awesome music in the most beautiful, laid-back setting.  There are few places as relaxing as Patriot's Point on the Charleston Harbor to unwind on a Friday evening.

If Patriot's Point is a favorite spot, start making plans for the 4th of July.  Tickets are on sale now for the best fireworks show in town. The show is on the USS Yorktown and flight deck tickets are $40, but fireworks can be seen from all over town. Check back next week for the best places to see fireworks!

We love all of the unique cultures that blend together here in the Lowcountry, and this weekend, we are celebrating the Caribbean influence. Charleston Carifest 2017 hits Brittlebank Park this weekend for live music and performances, beautiful costumes and delicious food you can't find outside of the islands!

Cross back over the Cooper for some Lowcountry dancing. If you missed the first 3, you still have 3 more chances to check out Shaggin on the Cooper. July 15th is the next event, with music by The Counts. Tickets are only $8 and food and drinks are available for purchase. It's a great family night, or a fun and flirty evening for two.

If you are looking for great concerts this Summer, be sure to check out the line up at Volvo Car Stadium.  Our favorite is local celeb Hootie and the Blowfish. The band reunites once a year on Daniel Island for their Homegrown Concert, and it never disappoints!

These are just a few of the Summer events we love. There are so many more! Check out the Charleston City Paper and Holy City Sinner for weekly line-ups. There is always something to do, so get outside, grab a drink and soak up all of the Summertime you can handle!
