Area 52 in the Charleston Multiple Listing Service refers to the Charleston peninsula outside of the crosstown. There was a 77.4% increase in single-family detached homes sold in 2010 (110 homes) compared to 2009 with 62 homes sold. The townhouse-condo market in this area did not have the same kind of change. The median and average sales price for single-family homes from 2009 to 2010 remained close to the same price. It certainly continues to be a buyer's market and the interest rates remain low.
