It seems that over 15,000 homes will sell in Charleston this year, making it the 3rd busiest year in history. Home prices have recovered nicely from the recession and appreciation is steady at 5% per year. Areas that have recovered the best are around the Peninsula - Mt. Pleasant (most popular), James and Johns Islands and West Ashley. North Charleston and Daniel Island are also attracting Buyers due to their close proximity to Boeing. Summerville and Goose Creek are gaining in popularity as well. Nice and well up-fitted new homes with in these areas can be bought for less than $100/sf. Prices are rising at a steady pace - one that is sustainable!
