This Week: Mount Pleasant's Busiest Neighborhood

Another great week in Mount Pleasant Real Estate, and across Charleston! We saw 40 homes go under contract in Mount Pleasant.  As we get ready to head into a holiday week, that is fantastic! The median list price was $224 per sq. ft.  

The most popular neighborhood this week? Dunes West! The golf community had 5 homes go under contract in one week.  

Across the Lowcountry, 358 homes were sold. It may not be the 400+ we saw last week, but it is still awesome.  James Island was also hot this week with 22 homes under contract.

No Summer Slow-down Here!

In Mount Pleasant and across Charleston, the real estate market remained busy last week.  Over 400 properties went under contract! 

39 Mount Pleasant homes went under contract, with a median price of $215 per sq. ft! 

100 of the homes under contract were in Hanahan/Goose Creek.  10% were new construction. 37 were in West Ashley, and 88 of 412 homes under contract were townhouses or condos. 

While most markets see a Summer slow-down this time of year, our market is as hot as it is outside! It is still a great time to buy or sell. If you live in Mount Pleasant and have a single family home between $300k-$500k, give Ed Hunnicutt a call. We have buyers for you.

2017 Set to be Record Breaking Year

If you have been watching the Real Estate market in Mount Pleasant, and across Charleston, you shouldn't be surprised to learn that sales are up, prices are up, and 2017 is looking like it will be the busiest year in Charleston history. 

Across the Lowcountry, sales are up 12% over last year, and the average sales price is up 8%. That is phenomenal improvement in just one year, and there are no signs of it slowing. 

Prices in North Mount Pleasant are increasing at a slightly higher rate than South of the Isle of Palms Connector. That can be attributed to the new construction in the area.  1,093 homes have already sold in Mount Pleasant this year!

WEZL's Party in the Park is back, and it kicks off tonight with an awesome line up! Come on over to Mount Pleasant Memorial Park every Tuesday in June at 6pm for local brews, good-for-the-soul food, and today's best bands in Country Music.

Holiday Weekend Keeps Buyers Shopping!

Last week was a short week for most, yet market activity did not slow down in Mount Pleasant, or across the Lowcountry! Charleston saw 345 homes go under contract, even with the long weekend.

55 homes went under contract in Mount Pleasant. The average contract price in Mount Pleasant was $540k. Old Village and Ion were the most popular neighborhoods of the week, with 5 properties under contract in each!

Still waiting for mortgage rates to rise, as they hit low for the year!

We keep waiting for mortgage rates to increase, but Freddie Mac's weekly survey shows rates at their lowest point yet this year. With the average at 3.94% this week, buyers' purchasing power remains strong. 

According to, rates were expected to hit 4.3% this year, but are now headed in the opposite direction, despite a stronger economy. 

Of course, rates change daily, and many factors go into your interest rate, so the best resource is a lender you trust. Another Busy Week - Over 400 Homes Under Contract!

Record Breaking Week in Charleston Real Estate

The stats are in for the last week of April, and 452 homes went under contract in one week! That is a record for our market. This past week, we saw another 418 homes go under contract. Of those, 56 were in Mount Pleasant. The Spring market is hot and buyers are not wasting any time!
