Jan-Apr 2012 compared to the number of actives on 5/14/2012. This ratio is of course directly related to the
simple months of inventory number. 6 months of inventory is considered a healthy, balanced market.
This chart includes single family detached, single family attached, and mobile homes.

188!! single family homes under contract in the Charleston SC Mls last week.  The median list price $225k, $107/sqft. 8 over $1M and 28 under $100k.
  29% of 188 properties under contract past week were either short sales or foreclosures and another 10% was new construction.

34 Mt. Pleasant, Sc homes (single family) under contract listed from  $200k- $1.2M. The median price $400k, $166/sqft. 8 over $500k. Only 5 under $135/sqft. 9 under 2000sqft. 4 Brickyard Plantation neighborhood.
  12% of the Mount Pleasant homes under contract were either short sales or foreclosures. No new construction.

Springtime at the Biltmore Estates in Asheville NCMay has finally arrived! Boaters are sprucing up their rides and the lines to the beach are growing on the weekends. We have a special day set aside in May to honor Moms, on the 13th, so be sure to remember.

Graduations will fill the town early in the month. Trident Tech starts us out at the college level on the 4th t the N. Charleston Coliseum. Then comes Charleston Southern filling the Coliseum on the 5th at 10am. A double whammy day, the Citadel will graduate the Corps at 9 am on the 5th and the Graduate School at 4pm. Watch out on Friday though, the “Long Gray Line” parade will begin at 3pm on the Citadel grounds. The College of Charleston makes its presence known on the 12th with a ...

SC Home Sales Up 4.6% and Pending Sales Up 8.6%

The real estate market continued its upward trajectory during the month of March, according to the latest home sales report from the SC Realtors.

Statewide home sales have now increased the first three months of the year, when compared to 2011, which was another down year. In March, statewide sales were up 4.6% at 4,405, with median price dropping slightly to $144,825.

On average, a home stayed on the market 139 days, six days less than a year ago.

New listings in South Carolina decreased 11.3% in March to 9,413. Pending sales were up 8.6% to 5,254. Inventory levels shrank 15.9% to 49,249 units. And absorption...

Learning and helping the environment extends far beyond the classroom at Moultrie Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC students have opportunities for hands on lessons as well. We head to Charleston county for our Cool School of the week.

News 2 tagged along with Moultrie students, as they collected oyster shells on James Island. They plan to build an oyster reef on the coast.
